Let's Get Our Cities on the Map!
Google started a new program to help small businesses to get better found online. They are calling the program, "Let's Get our Cities on the Map" and have launched a special website located at GYBO.com which stands for Get Your Business Online.
This Local SEO Small Business initiative is targeting local chambers of commerce and village/city planners and is framed as a grass roots effort to get small businesses in their communities to take control of their Google Business Listing. In support of this initiative, Google is providing partnering organizations free custom printed promotional materials such as t-shirts, banners, tote bags, and other items with specific town names.
Google is also providing partners with an event launch kit containing detailed information on best practices for hosting an event for small businesses their community. They are also providing valuable resources for small businesses that attend valuable resources such as a online small business google plus group, a youtube channel with videos containing tips for being successful online, and even a strategic partner that will help businesses develop a free website.
Google has produced several promotional videos aimed to create buzz and excitement around the idea that communities can pull together to get small businesses in their community online featured below in this article.
